Beltane is a celebration of new life and light and symbolises a time of hope and growth. Many people now recognise it as May Day. Our ancestors would wear the colour green and head dresses/crowns made of natural resources and plants to honour the earths new greenery Ribbons can be used to make wishes before decorating trees with them. Now is a time to celebrate your potential and work towards your desires. Beltain is also a celebration of love. With new and abundant life comes fertility. Friends and lovers would celebrate Beltain by dancing, usually around a fire, to symbolise the union between all things. It’s a time of healing and represented by the heart chakra Violet flowers are in bloom during this season and are regarded as the flower of love with its heart shaped leaves - the reason they are used in posies during celebrations.

During our Beltane Circle we will welcome each other before we discuss how our ancestors used Beltane to set themselves clear intentions for the season ahead. We will then pull a guidance card and discover the cards meaning before a guided meditation (Shakti Pillows are provided but optional) where we have the opportunity to reflect on our own plans and desires and how we can apply our cards message to our own intentions.

After this, we will write out our new intentions on ribbons to attach them to our faux flower wreaths that we will be making to take home with us.

We finish by sharing a picnic style ‘feast’ together (bring a dish - preferably home made to celebrate the gathering of the earths fresh ingredients)

I will provide self-care and mindfulness tasks for everyone to practice - these will encourage you to bring your awareness inwards and reconnect with yourself.

​
